A Public Demonstration will be held on Thursday, 9th October 2014 between 2pm and 8pm at
The Garth, Launton Road,
Bicester, Oxon, OX26 3YH.

Following the submission of the “Masterplan Vision" to Cherwell District Council in May 2014, P3Eco have progressed proposals for an outline application for the southern part
of the site, identified as Himley Village.

What? A chance to look round the Demonstration House before the formal opening event
Where? The Garth, Launton Road, Bicester, Oxon, OX26 3YH
What Time? From 10am to 12pm

The Demonstration House will be formally opened on Wednesday 25 May 2011 by Tony Baldry MP at 2.45pm. Before this, you are invited to tour the Demonstration House and learn more about the green technologies contained in the building. The house will be open from 10am for members of the media to look round, take photo’s, film and speak to representatives from P3Eco, Cherwell District Council and the companies which have provided products for the house.

The Demonstration House has been built and sponsored by Cassadian Homes (Bicester) Ltd, in conjunction with P3Eco and with support from Cherwell District Council. The property is not a show house, but rather a temporary building that show-cases the very latest in green technologies. The house will be open to members of the public from Tuesday 31st May 2011 so they learn how a greener home can save money and help the environment. The Eco Bicester Community Liaison officer will be available to assist the public in understanding the features of the Demonstration House as well as how it relates to the wider Eco Bicester project.

The Demonstration House contains some of the following green features and technologies:

  • Timber Frame sourced from sustainable forests provided by Code 4
  •  Concrete foundations – the concrete mix was produced using recycle aggregates provided by Ardent Contractors
  • External stone cladding – produced using reclaimed and secondary aggregates, recycled water and 100% renewable energy - provided by Bekstone
  • Rain water harvesting – rain water will be collected from the roof of the building and stored below ground for use in lavatories and washing machines – provided by Rainwater Harvesting Ltd
  • Exceptional insulation provided by Masonite
  • Triple glazed windows and external doors provided by Munster Joinery
  • Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery (MVHR) – the Demonstration House will have an air-tightness of more than 10 ten times the level of current building standards provided by Genvex
  • Air source heat pump water heater provided by Genvex
  • Solar photovoltaic panels converting light into electricity provided by Sundial Solar
  • LED and low energy lighting provided by Jonathan Coles
  • White goods will all be to the very latest energy saving standards provided by AEG Electrolux
  • Smart Meter – this will provide real time information on household energy consumption – provided by EML Electricals
  • Grey water harvesting system provided by CME Ltd
  • Real Time’ Travel information display provided by ACIS
  • Recycled PVC flooring provided by Karndean through Carpet Trader, Bicester

The Demonstration House is part of the Eco Bicester project which is responsible for a range of other environmental projects in the town including the new community centre currently under construction at the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Bicester.

P3Eco (Bicester) Ltd was formed to respond to Cherwell District Council’s (CDC) ambition for an eco development at NW Bicester. P3Eco is an eco development facilitation company rather than a traditional developer. In this facilitation role, P3Eco has assembled a professional team to produce a Masterplan for the NW Bicester Eco Development and forms partnerships with developers and others where and as needed to deliver the opportunities and ambitions of the eco development.
